An amendment to the ISO/TS 19036 was issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO/TS 19036:2006/Amd 1:2009 provides guidance for the estimation of measurement uncertainty of microbiological test when dealing with low counts. When the total number of colonies counted is less than a critical number Clim then a component due to Poisson distribution is added to the Uncertainty equation of ISO/TS 19036.
